This weekend, vocalist/composer Milton Suggs returns to Chicago for two performances with his own ensembles for the first time since 2014. On Saturday, February 22, Suggs and a quintet of musicians will appear at Fulton Street Collective for a performance of his original music.
Over the course of the past seven years Suggs has established himself as a formidable composer, lyricist, and vocalist, yet his appearances in Chicago have most often been under the leadership of other musicians; so for Suggs these performances are long overdue. “Starting a family can make traveling a bit more difficult,” Suggs said, “but my goal is to return to Chicago and perform more frequently in the city.”
