Guitarist Steve Knight performed original music from his highly praised latest CD, “For Years Gone”, as well as from his previous CDs at the Jazz Showcase in Chicago. HIs trio was well-rounded out with Justin Peterson on bass and Linard Stroud playing drums & cymbals.

Gustavo Cortiñas performed original compositions from his latest CD, The Crisis Knows No Borders, at Constellation in Chicago. Cortiñas drums & cymbals, Mark Feldman violin, Dave Miller guitar, and Jon Irabagon tenor sax.

The Evon J Sams Nonet performed jazz standards at the Fulton Street Collective, FSC in Chicago. Sams is a multi-instrumentalist, educator, and artist from Rockford, Illinois. His nonet consists of Sams on alto, tenor – Gerald Martinez, bari – Jacob Slocum, trumpet – Gabriel Wade, trumpet – Johnathan McQuade, trombone – Royce Harrington, piano – Austyn Menk, bass – Vinny Kabet, and drums & cymbals – Cliff Wallace.
